Cognitive Science for Better Learning

Our brains contain approximately one hundred billion neurons. Even with all of those connections, our working memories have a limited capacity. So, what goes in, doesn’t necessarily stick around very long. The brain manages this flood of new information by contextualizing it for later recall. It’s the brain’s way of understanding new info by relating it to what you already know. This is where we come in.

By understanding how people learn, we optimize teaching and learning experiences to be as effective as possible as quickly as possible. Our proprietary methods encourage a true understanding and application of information. It’s not about memorization. It’s about helping your brain better encode, recall, and use important information.

Cognitive Science

Cognitive Science is the study of thought, learning, and mental organization, which draws on aspects of psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and computer modeling. Applying Cognitive Science principles results in a type of learning that is active, constructive, and long-lasting. By engaging students in the learning processes, we teach them to use their brains more effectively to make connections when learning new things. We build on past knowledge to encourage retention of information. With cognitive science, we’re creating programs that not only teach new material, but we’re creating better learners. Bonus!
